A COME link opens an existing app instead of downloading

A phone may route a web link to an installed application. Observe where the link opens before assuming it started an APK transfer.

Check the visible result

If the existing app opens, inspect its screen and account context. If a browser opens, inspect the address and download status. The same button label does not guarantee identical behaviour on every device or configuration.

Separate opening from updating

Launching an installed app does not by itself update it. Compare the installed version and current update information if an update is your goal. Do not uninstall merely to force a link to open in a browser.

Use the device's normal choices

Android may offer an app-opening choice or related settings. Read those controls carefully and avoid changing unrelated defaults. If the actual goal is a file download, use the current explicit file option when available.

A useful next step

Follow the download guide only when your task is obtaining or updating the Android file.
